This Privacy Statement describes how we handle personal information collected, used or disclosed through CF SHOP!.

In this Privacy Statement, "personal information" means any information about you as an identifiable individual. This includes information such as your name, address, e-mail address, mobile phone number, and any unique identifiers that could be linked to you through information that we have or to which we could have access.

Information We Collect

We are continually innovating to improve CF SHOP! and associated services. We may collect other information as we release further versions of CF SHOP!. We may also collect information from third parties, including advertising networks regarding demographic or interest-based information about you so that we can further personalize our services for you.

How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to develop a personalized shopping experience for you and to innovate and secure our services. Your personalized shopping experience includes receiving promotional offers, contest invitations, notification of special events, shopping lists, and providing you with your Shop Card balance (if you have linked it to your account), as well as other features that we make available through CF SHOP!.

We also use your personal information to respond to your customer service requests or comments. We also use your personal information for promotional purposes, for example, we may feature a post you share on a third party service through CF SHOP! in our promotional communications.

We also use your personal information to send you reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, support and administrative messages, and service bulletins within CF SHOP!. If you have opted into receiving commercial electronic messages, we may also send you promotional and other communications by email or text message.

We also use your personal information to perform analyses of how you use CF SHOP!, what stores in our properties you visit, how long you shop in our properties, what promotions, events and other offers are of interest to you and analyze advertising effectiveness, and other similar information that assist us in understanding how you prefer to experience our properties and CF SHOP! features. In most cases we aggregate information about you with information of other users when we use your information in this way. We may also use information about how you use CF SHOP! to identify security vulnerabilities.

When We Share or Disclose Your Information

We use third party service providers and our affiliates (meaning entities controlled by, controlling or under common control with The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited) to assist us in providing CF SHOP! and associated products and services. We share your personal information with those third parties and our affiliates solely for the purposes of providing services to you and to us. They are not permitted to use your personal information for other purposes. Information that we collect may be combined with information collected by our affiliates and us in order to better understand how you interact with us and our properties.

We may share information in aggregated statistics and de-identified form with third parties for their own use. We may also share your personal information with third parties for identified purposes with your consent. For example, we may share personal information with retailers to provide you with discounts or promotions.

We may sell or purchase assets. If another entity acquires us or all or a portion of our assets, information that we collected from you may be shared with that entity. The information may also be shared for the purpose of that entity considering whether to enter into the transaction and also to complete the transaction. We may also disclose your personal information in the following circumstances: (a) if such disclosure is necessary for us to receive legal advice; (b) to collect a debt from you; (c) if we are required to disclose your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation or the decision of a judicial authority; (d) if disclosure is requested by an investigatory body, law enforcement official or governmental authority which has lawful authority to request the disclosure of the information in respect of an investigation; (e) if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information relates to a breach of an agreement or contravention of a law; or (f) where we are otherwise permitted to do so by applicable law.

Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Digital Markers

Some of our websites and promotional communications use cookies, pixel files and other digital markers. A cookie is a small data file of information offered to your computer or device by web servers to keep track of your browser as you navigate our websites. Using this information, we learn how you interact with our websites, how we can improve the design and content of our websites, and how to improve your experiences. We do not use cookies to access personal files on your computer or device.

Some of our websites and email communications use pixels files to manage our on-line advertising programs. Pixel files keep track of your browser so that you will be recognized when you visit other websites. We also use pixel files to determine when you have opened a promotional communication from us. These pixel files are generally valid for a limited number of days and are provided by our ad management providers. Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyze how users use the site. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. These websites provide tools that identify member companies that have placed cookies on your browser and provides mechanisms to opt-out of those cookies. You will still receive other types of advertising from participating companies; however, it will not be based on your interests. Deleting browser cookies can remove your opt-out preferences, so you should use these tools periodically to ensure that your preferences are up-to-date.

Children's Privacy

You should be at least thirteen (13) years old to use CF SHOP! and you should have your parent’s consent if you are under the age of majority in your province or territory of residence. Cadillac Fairview reserves the right to confirm such consent at any time and to discontinue your use of CF SHOP! should such consent not be granted.


We maintain physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information transmitted to us using this website. The information that is sent to us through CF SHOP! is encrypted. However, please note that e-mail is not encrypted.

You have a shared responsibility to keep information that is collected or created through CF SHOP! safe. Please take the following steps to secure your data:

You may come in contact with websites, e-mails or texts that try to lure you into providing sensitive information such as your password or credit card number. We will not send you these types of communications. Do not respond to them.

Data Processing and Storage Outside of Canada

We may process or store your personal information using third-party service providers outside of Canada. In accordance with the laws of those countries, in certain circumstances your personal information may be accessible by foreign law enforcement, regulatory bodies or other authorities.

Privacy Statement Updates

This Privacy Statement replaces all previous disclosures we may have provided you about our information practices in connection with CF SHOP!. The examples in this Privacy Statement are not exhaustive. We may amend, update and revise this Privacy Statement and to apply any changes to information previously collected, as permitted by law. If there are material changes to this policy or our information practices change in the future, we will notify you by a message through CF SHOP!.
